Star Ages

Scientists used to think that in start clusters the stars on the edges are newer, and the ones in the middle were the oldest. They thought that stars are formed from giant clouds of dust and gas. They believed that they would be older in the middle because the most gas would be there, so as the stars would be created first. I always thought that in star clusters the stars were made in the middle and pushed out.
They talked about how one of the bigger findings allowed them to disprove the former model. The new theories as to how the stars are formed is that the stars start forming at the same time, but there is more gas in the middle allowing the process to make stars last longer. Another theory is that as the stars form the older stars move out and the new ones are created in the middle.
